In 2024 I was investigated by government officials in New York because I had become a licensed private investigator in order to make artwork. There was only one page of handwritten notes in the case file that I received when the State dropped their inquiry. It was written in Romani and included symbolic ciphers.
At the heart of the case was a question: are processes that result in the production of artwork as investigative as processes that result in punishment or penalty?
Their investigative process resulted in the production of this artwork and no punishment or penalty. In 2025 my license was renewed for another two years. The prosecution is the defense.
